“Promise & Peril”
Lord,
This week, like all weeks, holds much promise and much peril.
In all of it, help us to trust you.
Help us to journey through this week
not with fear but with faith,
not with presumption but with trust,
not with starry eyes but with clear vision,
not with despair but with hope,
not with defenses up but with arms outstretched,
not with dread but with realism, and
not with frivolity but with joy.
Amen.
