A Prayer for Thursday, March 29, 2012

O God,

The initial words of our prayers typically address you, which reminds us that (1) before we pray—indeed, before we are—you are, and (2) in our prayers we are in fact speaking and listening to you.

Help us to grow in prayer so that our prayers become celebrations of your wonder, acts of conversation with you, and affirmations of our trust in your purposes.

May we experience an ever-increasing maturation in our prayers to you that both contributes to and reflects an ever-increasing maturation in our trust in you.
