Fourth Day of Christmas
O God,
On this day when we remember the slaughter of the children of Bethlehem that King Herod ordered in his effort to destroy the infant King who had been born there, we remember also all of those who have in the past been and who are in the present being persecuted for their connection with Jesus.
We remember also those children who have in the past been and who are in the present being victimized by violence, be it emotional, mental, spiritual, economic, or physical.
Inspire and empower those of us who are not the victims of persecution or violence to do what we can to help those who are.
Amen.
