Move Back (Twenty-Sixth Day of Lent)
O God,
Sometimes we find ourselves, either through our own choices or through circumstances seemingly beyond our control, facing a situation that tempts us to be less than we are.
When that happens, give us the wisdom to move back a safe distance from the situation if that is what it takes to preserve our integrity and our witness.
Keep us aware that there is no shame in the occasional tactical retreat.
Amen.
