Eighteenth Day of Advent
O God Who Comes,
Thank you that we don’t have to be good enough—or even good—for you to come to us. Thank you that you come to us even though we are sinners and even when we have been greedy, vengeful, and arrogant.
Thank you that while we were yet sinners, Christ came to us and died for us. Thank you that he comes to us now to forgive us for and to rescue us from our sins.
Help us who have experienced and who are experiencing your gracious presence to be the presence of Christ to others who are reeling, hurting, and wandering. Help us to offer your forgiveness and your grace through our attitudes and our actions.
Amen.
