A Prayer for Thursday, January 16, 2014

Eyes

O God,

Help us to keep

our eyes on you
so we won’t sink
(and so when we do sink we’ll look to you to save us);

our eyes on ourselves
so we won’t stumble
(and so when we do stumble we’ll admit it, repent, and move on);

and

our eyes on others
so we will share
(and so when we don’t share we’ll realize it and move toward generosity and sacrifice).

Amen.
