Understanding

O God,

Increase our understanding

of people,
of situations,
of cultures,
of history,
of ourselves,
and
of perspectives

so that we can approach life and relate to people

with rationality,
with reasonableness,
with respect,
with sympathy,
and even with
empathy

and always and above all else

with love and grace.
