O God,
Guard my heart against
the pride,
the selfishness,
the fear,
and
the anger
to which I am prone.
Grow my heart in
the love,
the grace,
the mercy,
and
the peace
that mark me as your child.
Guide my heart to
the perspectives,
the paths,
the people,
and
the lifestyle
that will best
honor you,
suit me,
and
help others.
