Listen
O God,
Thank you for listening to us
when we speak to you.
Help us to listen to you
when you speak to us.
Make us sensitive to your
voice as it comes to us in
the advice of wise friends,
the glory of nature,
the events of history,
the words of Scripture,
the writings of trustworthy women and men,
the preaching of the Word,
the gentle stirrings of your Spirit,
the life of Jesus Christ,
and
from unexpected and surprising sources.
Help us to listen to you, O God.
Then let our lives demonstrate
that we have in fact heard you.
Amen.
