Winning
O God,
Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose.
It may be, though, that we need to redefine “winning” if we really want to follow Jesus.
Do we define winning in terms of service? In terms of giving? In terms of helping? In terms of forgiveness?
Do we define winning in terms of love?
Lord, help us to grab hold of the fact that for followers of Jesus winning can look an awful lot like what the world considers losing.
Then help us to pursue winning with all our might …
Amen.
