Second Day of Lent

O God,

Slow us down.

Slow us down so we can pay attention to what’s going on rather than fly through it all with only a vague awareness of the scenery that zips by at the edges of our field of vision.

Slow us down so we can be more aware of your presence, of your majesty, and of your love.

Slow us down so we can be more aware of our spirit, of our default settings, and of our motives.

Slow us down so we can be more aware of other people’s perspective, of their situation, and of their needs.

Slow us down so that we can live our life rather than just move through it.
