Conscience
O God,
Heighten the conscience of those of us who have one.
Develop a conscience in those of us who need one.
Give us, both individually and corporately, the ability
to be appalled when we need to be.
Deliver us from expecting the worst and from not
being surprised when it happens.
Grant us the moral and ethical sensitivity that
befits followers of Jesus.
Amen.
