Ahead
O God,
We have looked ahead and tried to plan our week as well as we can.
We have thought about what must be done, we have placed appointments and obligations on the calendar, and we have mentally noted what we look forward to and what we dread.
We give it all over to you, knowing that even with all of our planning, we do not know what this week will bring to us nor do we know who this week will bring to us.
Protect us from careless arrogance that causes us to think that we are in control; fill us with careful trust that causes us to know that this week—indeed, that all of time—is in your hands.
Amen.
