Possibilities
O God,
This week is pregnant with possibilities.
We think that we know some of what will happen and a good bit of what we expect likely will take place, but even in those cases there will be details that surprise us.
Then there will be those occurrences and opportunities for which we have absolutely no anticipation; we have no inkling that they are coming.
Thank you, God, for the routine of the expected and for the upheaval of the unexpected; thank you, God, for a life that is predictable enough to be manageable yet unpredictable enough to be exciting.
Help us to face all the possibilities of this week with great faith and with great hope, knowing that you are with us in all things and that in all things you are working your great purposes out.
Amen.
