No (Part One)
O God,
Help us to say “No” to fear.
Help us to be realists. Don’t let us
pretend that everything is fine when
it isn’t. Don’t let us be unconcerned when
there are things to be concerned about.
But don’t let us be afraid. Don’t let fear dominate
our thoughts and determine our actions.
Instead, fill us with assurance that knows
that everything is going to be all right someday.
Instead, fill us with trust that knows that no
matter what happens, we are ultimately safe in you.
Instead, fill us with grace that knows that all things
work together for good for those who love you.
Help us to say “No” to fear.
Help us to say “Yes” to that which is
greater than and more helpful than fear.
Amen.
