Forty-Ninth Day of Easter
O God,
We praise you
that the Spirit that
raised Jesus Christ
from the dead
is in us, bringing
your life to us and
empowering us to rise
above death,
above experiences that
feel like death, and
above the people who
by their motives and actions
seem to prefer death to life
and so want everybody else
to feel like they’re dying.
Make us more aware of
the presence of
your live-giving Spirit
than we tend to be
that we might experience
as fully as possible
the wonder of living
the full and free life
that you intend for us
to live.
Amen.
